Training: FLS staff and active shooter
Ch. 20, §20.3, pp. 426-427; Ch. 22, §22.2, pp. 435-436
What the inspector asks of you
Two training segments. In section 4 the inspector plays a new employee who knows nothing about the building and picks the FLS role you must train. In section 5 the inspector plays an occupant who knows nothing about active shooter response. You get 10 minutes to write an outline for each, but only what you say out loud counts.
- Roles you can be asked to train: FLS brigade members (hotels and offices), building evacuation supervisors and floor wardens (offices only). (FDNY booklet 2022, Ch. 20, §20.3, p. 426)
- The full training content is in section 3.8 of the booklet; active shooter, in section 18.2. (FDNY booklet 2022, Ch. 20, §20.3, p. 427; Ch. 22, §22.2, p. 435)
