Emergency scenarios: fire, building and non-fire
Ch. 21, pp. 431-433; Ch. 22, §22.3, pp. 436-437
What the inspector asks of you
The inspector reads a scenario in parts and waits for your answer after each one. You are the only FLS Director on duty. You take notes only where allowed, get 15 minutes to prepare, print your answers in English and then say them out loud: you need to state them to get credit.
- Fire scenario (section 7): study chapter 11; some scenarios also need chapters 5, 6 and 7. (FDNY booklet 2022, Ch. 21, §21.1, p. 431)
- Building scenario (section 8): an out-of-service condition; you are the impairment coordinator. Study chapters 5, 6 and 7. (FDNY booklet 2022, Ch. 21, §21.2, pp. 431-432)
- Non-fire scenario (section 9): study chapters 15 and 17, and cover the affected area AND the rest of the building. (FDNY booklet 2022, Ch. 22, §22.3, p. 436)
